Esomeprazole 40mg Tablet

Esoz 40 contains esomeprazole 40 mg (proton pump inhibitor, PPI). Esomeprazole acts by selectively inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, resulting in profound and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion. It is indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, erosive esophagitis, Zollinger–Ellison syndrome, and NSAID-associated gastric ulcers. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors.

Esoz 40 provides effective acid suppression for healing and symptom control in acid-related disorders. Use with caution in patients with long-term therapy requirements, due to risks of vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and increased susceptibility to gastrointestinal infections (e.g., C. difficile). Common adverse effects include headache, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, and diarrhea.
