Oracure Gel contains Choline Salicylate (topical NSAID) and Lidocaine (local anesthetic). Choline salicylate inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and thereby inflammation and pain, while lidocaine blocks voltage-gated sodium channels, providing localized analgesia by inhibiting nerve impulse conduction. It is indicated for the management of oral inflammatory and painful conditions such as mouth ulcers, gingivitis, stomatitis, denture sores, and minor oral lesions. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to salicylates, local anesthetics, or any component, and should be avoided in infants and young children where salicylate exposure is a concern.
This formulation provides rapid localized pain relief with anti-inflammatory action, improving patient comfort and oral function. Use with caution in patients with salicylate sensitivity, bleeding disorders, or those on anticoagulant therapy, and avoid excessive or prolonged use. Adverse effects are generally mild and may include local irritation, burning sensation, or hypersensitivity reactions.
