Ceftriaxone 1000g + Sulbactam 500mg Vial

G-CEFTRIA PLUS contains Ceftriaxone 1000 mg (third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic) and Sulbactam 500 mg (β-lactamase inhibitor). Ceftriaxone exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while sulbactam irreversibly inhibits β-lactamase enzymes, protecting ceftriaxone from enzymatic degradation and extending its spectrum against resistant organisms. It is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sepsis, and gynecological infections. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or β-lactam antibiotics, and in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia.

This combination provides enhanced coverage against β-lactamase–producing organisms, supporting effective empiric and targeted therapy in hospital settings. Use with caution in patients with renal and hepatic impairment, history of penicillin allergy, or gastrointestinal disease (especially colitis). Monitor for adverse effects such as injection site reactions, diarrhea, hypersensitivity reactions, and rare hematological abnormalities. Appropriate dosing and duration should be guided by infection severity and clinical response.
